CoacheS
Welcome to another season! Please use this page to access Safe Sport and complete the required training. Also there are important dates listed below for you.
Complete or Renew Safesport AND Background Check by November 1st
Safe sport is required every year.
Background Checks are required every 2 years.
USA Racquetball recently changed platforms to manage our safesport certification, which is expected to make this process smoother for all. OHSRL also is now using a Registration Portal that can handle uploading proof of certification, so you no longer need to (or should) email certificates to the league commissioner. Instead, please complete the SafeSport and Background Check using the links below or contact jonathan.greenberg@usaracquetball.com for more information on how to complete them. Once Completed, submit a screenshot or downloadable certificate into the coach registration portal. Link Provided below. All Coaches must submit proof of these items in order to participate in League Practices and Competition. If you completed your background check last year, simply upload what you submitted last year. Last years safesport access through players health is available here: https://app.playershealthprotect.com/sign-in if you are trying to access last years records.
If the links below aren’t working yet or you have trouble with this process please contact jonathan.greenberg@usaracquetball.com for help. As USA Racquetball updates the league with more information, we will work hard to get that information posted here for your convenience
SafeSport and a Background Check are required of all coaches that are on the court and working with our kids. Click on the image to the left to learn more about Safe Sport, or click below to get started.

2026 Season Information
NEW FOR 2026: OHSRL Registration Portal! (for players ***&*** Coaches - yes you!)
This year we’ve upgraded last years registration forms with a registration platform to make registering simpler and more reliable for Players, Coaches and Volunteers. If you or your players have any issue with the new registration portal, please get in touch with the Commissioner at or after October 20th coaches meeting.
Steps to register:
1) click the registration link to launch the OHSRL Registration Portal.
2) first time users click “Sign up”
3) Players check the player option. Coaches check the Coach option. Volunteers registration isn’t setup yet but can be initiated.
4) Complete the Registration information wizard - this is the same as what we’ve collected in years past.
5) After filling out the information, Players must sign our 3 waivers along with their Parents in order to be eligible to play.
6) In addition to the 3 waivers, Coaches must also sign the Coach Code of Conduct Waiver as well as submit their safesport and background check proof of completion via the “certifications” section. Please also consider completing the optional certifications as well.
NEW FOR 2026: BALL CHANGE! Out with the Green. In with the BLack.
Due to Penn’s withdrawal of their sponsorship of USA Racquetball, USA Racquetball will be hosting the National Tournament using the Gearbox Black ball. In order to best prepare our players for National Competition, the OHSRL will also be switching to the Gearbox Black ball. We’re joining the ORA in placing a bulk order, but this was an unplanned for expense so we’d like teams to contribute towards the purchase. All teams who contribute to the league ball purchase will also receive a set of official gearbox black practice balls to prepare for league play!
NEW FOR 2026: Team Volunteer REQuirement. (no joke!)
Every team must have at least one adult volunteer attached to it who must attend each league match and the state tournament and be willing to step in as a site director, or site director assistant. we will hold a volunteer training in early November where we will review how site directing works to make this a easy (and FUN!) experience for all. The past two years have been challenging in terms of volunteer participation, we need to step it up this year! Teams without a volunteer present and checked in at each league match may potentially face team point deductions at the discretion of the league commissioner, Board of Directors and/or league match Site Directors.

COACHES Meeting AGENDA:
Here is what we’re going to talk about at the Coaches meeting: Please read and come ready with questions if you got’em!
1) Season Schedule:
This Seasons LM Dates are confirmed and up to date on this website. League sites will be the same as last year: SAC, CAC and MAC.
2) League Fees:
Same as last year: $80 per player ($5o for OHSRL and $30 for USA Racquetball membership).
3) League BALL Fees:
new for this year, as we’ve had a sudden change in ball and are no longer receiving free balls from Penn. Consider chipping in $2-3 per player on your team to help cover the cost of balls for the season. next season we will build the cost into the League Fees.
4) New Registration Portal:
all coaches are required to register, sign waivers and complete the two required certifications (Safesport and Background check) PRior to the start of the season. Volunteer registration information to come, but volunteers are expected to be available for league matches, the state tournament, and be willing to serve assist as a site director (or find replacements for themselves).
5) Team Rosters:
Team rosters can be manages through the Registration portal. On Monday October 20, Coaches who have completed their registration will be approved to assemble their team rosters via the portal. Help will be available with this if you need it after the first coaches meeting on Monday october 20th.
6) Other Items for discussion:
Pre-paying the State Tournament Entry Fee for 2027 (next year, not this year). We have extremely high state tournament participation - The “other state” includes the state tournament fee as part of league registration which will both simplify the registration process and help us plan and budget ahead for the state tournament. Effectively, we would be formally including the State Championship as a regular part of the league season, which is aligned with our goal to make the state championships inclusive to all levels of play.
Coaching Standards and conduct: We want your help in promoting healthy and sporting coach behavior as we are role models to our kids.
Referee Certification: USA Racquetball has a new referee training that is relatively quick and easy tutorial to how to referee. we would love for all players to be exposed to this training prior to the state championship. We would also like to find volunteers willing to help create a High School focused referee training since our players encounter some situations different than the usual adult tournament players will face.
