Welcome to another season! Please use this page to access Safe Sport and complete the required training. Also there are important dates listed below for you.

Complete or Renew Safesport AND Background Check by November 1st

Safe sport is required every year.

Background Checks are required every 2 years.

USA Racquetball manages safesport certification and Background Checks using Ankored.com. OHSRL tracks certification using it’s online registration portal (no more emailing certificates required!).

If you have any issues with the Ankored portal, please contact jonathan.greenberg@usaracquetball.com for assistance.

Once completed on Ankored, submit a screenshot or downloadable certificate into the coach registration portal, in the "certifications” section. Links Provided below. All Coaches must submit proof of these items in order to participate in League Practices and Competition.

2027 Season Information

Returning FOR 2027: OHSRL Registration Portal! (for players ***&*** Coaches - yes you!)

Last year we upgraded last years registration forms with a registration platform to make registering simpler and more reliable for Players, Coaches and Volunteers. If you or your players have any issue with the new registration portal, please get in touch with the Commissioner at or after the October 1st coaches meeting.

Steps to register:

1) click the registration link to launch the OHSRL Registration directly, or signup/sign in to matchgamepoint.com and find OHSRL in the organizations section to register.

2) first time users click “Sign up”

3) Players check the player option. Coaches check the Coach option.

4) Complete the Registration information wizard - this is the same as what we’ve collected in years past. (note that returning players can now use their same registration information from past years.

5) After filling out the basic information, Players must sign our 3 waivers along with their Parents in order to be eligible to play.

6) In addition to the 3 waivers, Coaches must also sign the Coach Code of Conduct Waiver as well as submit their safesport and background check proof of completion via the “certifications” section. Please also consider completing the optional certifications as well.

Returning for 2027: Gearbox Black Ball

USA Racquetball will be hosting the National Tournament using the Gearbox Black ball. In order to best prepare our players for National Competition, the OHSRL will continue to use the same Gearbox Black ball we used last year.

$5 fee increase (was $80, now $85)

As always, includes one year membership to USA Racquetball.

Team Volunteer REQuirement.

Every team must have at least one adult volunteer attached to it who must attend each league match and the state tournament and be willing to step in as a site director, or site director assistant.

Coaches: please ask your team volunteers to register, then assign them to your team roster.

We will hold a volunteer training in October where we will review how site directing works to make this a easy (and FUN!) experience for all.

We had some fantastic new and returning volunteers last year, we need to keep it up this year to keep our players, teams and clubs well supported!

COACHES Meeting AGENDA:

Here is what we’re going to talk about at the Coaches meeting: Please read and come ready with questions if you got’em!

1.Schedule:

    • League Match Dates are confirmed and up to date on the OHSRL website.

    • League sites will be the same as last year: SAC, CAC and MAC.

2.League Fees: 

    • $85 per participant.

      • Includes $30 for USA Racquetball membership.

3.State Entry Fees: 

    • Flat $65 Per participant.

      • Enter up to 3 divisions for one fixed fee: no additional cost per division. 

4.Ball:

  • Gearbox Black (Same as last year)

  • Ball cost is now built into the league fee increase.

    • Thanks all who contributed last season! 

  • Reach out to commissioner if your team wants to order extra practice balls through the league. 

5.Registration:

    • Coaches: 

    • Players: 

      • Register via matchgamepoint.com

      • Note: returning players registration information is now pre-filled.

    • Volunteers:

      • At least one Volunteer per team expected to attend league matches, attend a site director training, and help the designated Site Director at league matches. 

      • Volunteers register via matchgamepoint.com

6.Team Rosters:

    • Similar to last year, team rosters are managed and submitted through matchgamepoint.com. 

    • Coaches who have completed their registration, waiver and certifications will be approved to assemble their team rosters via matchgamepoint.com.

    • Please complete your coach registration by October 15th. 

    • Please complete and submit rosters by November 1st. 

7.New Match System!: 

    • MatchGamePoint is replacing our old MS Access system. Here’s how it’s different / improved for league matches:

      • New!

        • Instant League Results available on-site!

        • Named Doubles teams (instead of anonymous doubles).

        • Named Site Directors (SD’s login with their own username).

        • New faster Laptops!

        • New faster inkless printers!

        • New more compact gear bags!

        • New self-stick score cards! 

      • Staying the same: (All the important stuff)

        • Split and Go Format.

        • Rankings, Ratings, Team points etc. all remain unchanged. 

        • Check-in Process, divisions, match setup.

      • Cosmetic Changes:

        • Division Names / Colors (Name changes only)

          1. Letter System (A-Z) instead of Gold/Blue/Red/White system. 

          2. The Draw/Brackets are the same, only the names changed.

          3. Division A is always the top competitive division: A is higher than B, B is higher than C, and so forth.

        • Printed sheets style updated (check-in and score cards)

8.Site Director Training

    • Parent volunteer Tammy Yashar is helping create an updated training aid to use the new system, thank you Tammy! 

    • Site director training will take place in October. 

    • New league bags will be distributed (one for each site) during the site director training.

9.Middle School Racquetball Program! 

    • Thanks to the efforts of Annie Sanchez, Travis Haines, Seth Bouska, and others in the community, we’re starting to see enough middle school interest to explore middle school participation this year and get kids excited about joining their High School teams as they age up! More details to come, get in touch if you’re interested in participating! 

10.Other Items for discussion:

    • State Doubles Team Points

      • We’re revisiting our team points calculation for the state championships. There may be more extensive changes coming as we claw through the old point determination system, but at a minimum, the available team points for Mixed Doubles will be re-aligned, likely to match the Boys/Girls Division 3 scoring.  

    • Next Season (2028 Season) 

      • Please expect the next Season fee (2028 season) to increase again as we continue to catch up with rising costs and inflation. 

      • To further streamline season planning and execution, and align to our goal to make the state championships inclusive to all levels of play, the 2028 State Championship fee may be combined with the league fee and collected at the beginning of the season next November. Thus, the State Championship would be included as a regular part of the league season play and available to all participants. 

      • Self-registration payments - expect players to be able to pay their league fees directly to the league online next season through the online registration system - no more paper checks to the league!

    • Coaching standards and conduct: 

      • As always, we want your help in promoting healthy and sporting coach behavior as we are role models to our kids.

    • Referee Certification:

      • USA Racquetball has a quick and easy tutorial to how to referee. we would love for all players to be exposed to this training prior to the state championship. We would also like to find volunteers willing to help create a High School focused referee training since our players encounter some situations different than the usual adult tournament players will face.

    • Board Participation

      • If you’re interested in becoming an active board member or help with league operations, please reach out to Board@highschoolracquetball.org. We’re looking to add new members and ongoing supporters!
